By purchasing any mela design co product, you agree to the terms & conditions listed below.

Production Timelines

The order timeline for our semi-custom suites is 2-3 weeks for Save the Dates and 3-4 weeks for invitations, from order date to ship date. This timeframe does not include shipping time. Some more complex orders may require an additional week of production time.

The order timeline for our custom suites is 4-5 weeks for Save the Dates and 6-8 weeks for invitations, from order date to ship date. This timeframe does not include shipping time. Some more complex orders may require an additional week of production time.

If you need your order sooner than the above stated timeframes, a rush fee will be required. Our rush package expedites the design, production, and assembly of your suite, and can bring the order timeline down to about 10 days. We only accommodate rush orders based on availability, so please contact us with your need-by date before ordering to confirm availability.

Customization Allotments for Semi-Custom Suites

Our semi-custom invitation suites were designed in the unique style of mela design co.

You can choose your paper color, envelope colors, and wording to customize your suite. You are also allotted 3 rounds of edits at no cost. Edits can include changes to spelling, grammar, wording etc., or changes to paper color or embellishment selections. Edits after the 3rd revised proof are subject to a $30 fee for each additional proof.

Changes that are not permitted: the layout, size, fonts, and graphics are fixed and cannot be changed.

If you would prefer additional customization, please consider booking a custom package.

Color Variations 

Because all computer screens calibrate color differently, the color you see on your screen may not accurately represent the printed colors you will hold in your hand. While we aim to represent the colors in our photos and in our proofs as accurately as possible, we cannot guarantee that the printed color will match what you see on your screen.

Please also note that CMYK colors (digital flat printing) can vary in color from printer to printer (even professional, high-end ones). We try to minimize any descrepancies as much as possible.

If you have any hesitations about color, we recommend that you purchase a sample before ordering.

Paper and Materials

In the rare case that, after proof designs are approved and we are ready to move forward with production, your chosen paper color or envelope color is out of stock, we will replace it with a color that matches it as closely as possible. In cases in which a replacement color nearly identically matches or very closely matches the original color, mela design co reserves the right to make this color substitution without consulting the client. In the instance in which there is no close replacement, we will consult with the client to decide on a replacement color(s).

Proofs and Production Errors 

mela design co is not responsible for spelling errors submitted by the client, or errors on the proof that the client has approved. It is imperative that you carefully review your proof before approving, as no changes can be made once you submit the final approval of the proof. If there is an error due to misspelled, incorrect, or incomplete data provided by the client, or if the error existed on the proof that the client approved, re-prints and shipping will be paid by the client.

If an error was made by mela design co that was not on the proof that the client approved, mela design co will cover the cost of re-prints and shipping.

If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know during the revision process, as we cannot make any changes once the final approval is received.  

Re-prints and Additional Sets

If, at any point after the proof is approved or the order is completed, the client requests re-prints or additional sets of their original order, the client will be subject to a minimum $50 setup fee, plus the cost of the re-prints and shipping. More complex re-prints will require a higher setup fee. Both partial re-prints (for example, the client needs a few envelopes re-printed), and full set re-prints (for example, the client did not order enough extra sets and needs a few more) are subject to this pricing.

To avoid needing to order re-prints or additional sets, we highly recommend purchasing extra sets in your original order.

Assembly 

All Save the Date and Invitation orders include assembly at no additional cost. Please note that free assembly does NOT include stamps or addressing. If you do not include stamps and/or address printing in your order, you will need to stamp and/or address each envelope before sending to your guests. 

Envelope Address Printing

If your order includes envelope address printing, you must use the envelope address spreadsheet template provided by mela design co to collect and provide your guest addresses. If addresses are not provided in the proper formatting, we will ask you to re-format and re-submit them in to the required format.

mela design co will not make any changes or corrections to your guest addresses; we will print them exactly as you submit them. Please proof-read your addresses before submitting. Any envelope re-printing required due to misspelled or incorrect addresses will be subject to the re-printing terms and fees outlined in these terms and conditions.

Postage Requirements for Save the Dates / Invitations

There are many factors that determine the total amount of postage required to mail your sets (like the size, shape, and weight of your envelopes), and many of our embellishment options will require additional postage to mail. In many cases, one Forever stamp will not be sufficient to mail your Save the Date or Invitation sets.

If you have purchased our stamp service with your Save the Date / Invitation order, we will advise on the amount of postage that will be required to mail your sets.

If you have not purchased our stamp service with your Save the Date / Invitation order, we highly recommend you wait to purchase your stamps until you receive your finished Save the Dates / Invitations from us. In this case, we recommend taking one of your Save the Date / Invitation sets to your local Post Office and asking them to examine and weigh your envelope and let you know how much postage will be required to mail the envelopes. Knowing the total postage required, you can then buy your stamps from the Post Office or order them online at usps.com.

mela design co is not responsible for any additional postage required due to the shape, size, and/or weight of your Save the Date / Invitation sets, nor are we responsible for mail returned from the Post Office for insufficient postage.

Shipping policy

All mela design co product(s) is shipped to the client at the client’s provided shipping address. It is the client’s responsibility to mail their Save the Date / Invitation sets to their guests.

mela design co is not responsible for shipping delays on behalf of the shipping carrier. No refunds will be given for product arriving late due to shipping delays, so please place your order in advance. mela design co is not responsible for product lost, damaged, or stolen while in transit. If you would like to purchase insurance on your order package, please let us know in advance.

In some cases, mela design co will mail Save the Date / Invitation sets on behalf of the client. mela design co is not responsible for Save the Date / Invitation sets lost, damaged, or stolen while in transit.

Return and cancellation policy 

Due to the custom nature of our product, orders placed with mela design co cannot be cancelled or refunded once production has begun. If any design work has begun on an order but production has not yet begun, it is at the discretion of mela design co to determine the total amount to be refunded based on the amount of work already completed by the time of cancellation.

For CUSTOM design projects, the deposit is non-refundable. Because the remainder of the project total is due before production begins, the remainder of the project total cannot be refunded once paid, as your custom project is immediately put into production upon receipt of final payment.

100% refund

The client will receive a 100% refund of the total order amount if a cancellation is requested within 48 hours of submitting the order, provided that no design work has been completed by mela design co. A cancellation request must be communicated in writing to hello@meladesignco.com. If any design work has begun by the time the cancellation request is received, the refund amount will be determined by mela design co.

50% refund

The client will receive a 50% refund of the total order amount if a cancellation is requested at any point in the order process before the order is sent to production. You may cancel and receive a 50% refund any time during the questionnaire, design, or proofing rounds, up until the client’s proof approval has been submitted. A cancellation request must be communicated in writing to hello@meladesignco.com.

0% refund

The client will receive no refund once the design proof has been approved by the client and/or production has begun on the order. Orders cannot be amended, cancelled, or refunded once the final proof has been approved and the order is set into production. 

Copyrights 

mela design co owns all copyrights in any and all work(s) it creates or produces pursuant to federal copyright law (Title 17, Chapter 2, Section 201-02 of the United States Code), whether registered or unregistered. If the client fails to abide by these laws, legal action can and will be taken. 

Copyright protects all elements of design, including font sources, paper sources and details, material sources and details, vendors and suppliers, art and illustrations, and more.

mela design co does not share any information pertaining to details of the design of the purchased product(s), neither to prospective nor paying clients. In no instances do we share fonts, paper brands and colors, material details, or sources to reproduce our work.

In some cases, and at the sole discretion of mela design co, we may issue a personal license for artwork used in our designs. A personal license will be issued at the cost of a licensing fee (to be determined by mela design co) and a signed print release contract. Our personal licenses allow only a narrow scope of permitted use, and only include vector-outlined artwork assets.

The client is permitted to mail, display, and enjoy mela design co product only. In no circumstance may the client alter, repurpose, reprint, market, or sell all or part of the product(s). The client is not permitted to use any of the artwork from a mela design co product on additional items or stationery (such as menus, guest charts, or other items) without the purchase of a licensing fee. If the client is interested in using any element of our work for any reason, please contact mela design co beforehand to request the purchase of a license to do so. If the client fails to abide by these terms, legal action can and will be taken. 

We retain the right to post all Save the Dates, Invitations, and stationery product on our website and on social media.
