The Custom Design Process

  • All custom invitation packages include:

    1. A starting set of 4 pieces: Main Invitation, Main Envelope, Details Card, and RSVP Card.

    2. Envelope addressing: your guests’ addresses will be printed on the front of the envelopes, and your return address will be printed on the back flap.

    3. Postage: we will curate, purchase and apply stamps to your Envelopes. Your invitation suite will be weighed and measured at the Post Office to ensure your invitations have the correct amount of postage to mail.

    4. Assembly: we will carefully assemble your invitation suites, all the way through to stuffing and sealing the envelopes.

    5. Mailing: we will mail your invitations directly to your guests for you. Alternatively, we can mail all assembled invitations directly to you for a fee.

    6. Keepsake Sets: we will directly ship to you 2 complimentary sets: one for you as a keepsake, and one for your planner / photographer (this set can be photographed in a flatlay as part of your wedding-day photos).

    These are just the minimum offerings at our starting price. That said, your custom package is truly custom, so we will always offer any additional bells and whistles that fit your needs, style, and budget. For example, we can upgrade your postage to vintage postage, we can add addressed + stamped RSVP Envelopes (if you prefer mailed RSVPs), and we can add additional insert cards. We also strive to include additional personal touches that will help tell your love story through embellishments like wax seals or vellum wraps.

    Custom Save the Date packages include the Save the Date Card and Main Envelope with envelope address printing. Your Save the Date package also includes postage, assembly, and mailing, as well as a keepsake and photographer’s set.

    Custom Day-Of-Wedding stationery is reserved exclusively for our custom invitation clients and is quoted separately.

  • As each custom project is unique, custom design projects are individually quoted upon inquiry. Pricing is determined primarily by quantity and budget, but we will suggest any additional embellishments and upgrades that fit within your budget and style.

    • The minimum investment for custom invitations is $3,000.

    • The minimum investment for custom Save the Dates is $750.

    A 50% deposit of the project quote is due at the time of booking, and the remainder of the project total is due before production begins on your project.

    Please note that changes to the offerings, scope, or timeline of the quoted project will incur additional costs. Additional costs are added to the final project total due prior to beginning production. We will always notify you of additional costs as they arise.

    Custom day-of-wedding stationery projects are quoted separately and paid in full.

  • We’d love to work with you!

    1. Please complete our inquiry form to begin the process for your custom project. We will follow up with you with a quote.

    2. If you would like to move forward, we will send you a contract and an invoice for the deposit (50% of the quoted project total) to secure your spot on our calendar.

    3. Once we receive your deposit, we’ll send you a timeline with due dates for each step of the project. This timeline is specifically tailored to your project to ensure we meet your target mailing date. We will also send you a design questionnaire to gather your wedding details and other information that will help us capture your vision for your stationery.

    4. We will use your completed design questionnaire to design your custom suite. First, we will send you a design proposal of your custom suite to ensure we are aligned on the design direction before we begin working on the final design and any custom artwork. Once the proposal is approved, we will finalize your designs and provide you with a formal mockup of your suite for your final review and approval.

    5. Once your final proof approval is received, we will put your project into production.

  • The turnaround time from start date to ship date is typically 8 weeks for invitations and 5 weeks for Save the Dates.

    As we take a very limited number of custom clients per year and can book out months in advance, we encourage you to book with us as early as possible. Booking with us will secure you a spot on our calendar and will establish your project’s timeline and due dates.

    We develop your project’s timeline by working backwards from your ideal mailing date, taking into consideration the complexity of your project and other factors. It is important to adhere to the due dates of each step of the project to avoid rush fees.

    Please keep in mind that our shop is closed on weekends and holidays.

  • It’s important to us that we capture your stationery vision from the first proof. To help limit the amount of proof revisions needed, we will first send you a design proposal of your custom suite first to ensure we are aligned on the design direction before we begin working on the final design and any custom artwork. The design proposal is based on the information you provide in your Design Questionnaire, so the more details you can provide about your wedding, yourselves, and your stationery vision, the better we can serve you!

    Once the proposal is approved, we will finalize your designs and provide you with a formal mockup of your suite for your review and approval.

    You then are allotted 2 additional proofs should you require minor changes like spelling edits, copy changes, or ink color changes. Any additional proofs will be invoiced at $75 per proof.

    • If custom artwork or illustrations are created for your project, changes to previously approved design proposal or artwork would incur additional design fees which are evaluated and quoted on a case-by-case basis.

    • Other major changes like font or layout changes will also incur additional design fees.

  • All custom design projects are fully assembled in our studio and mailed to your guests on your behalf. Alternatively, we can package and ship all assembled suites directly to you for an additional fee.

  • Deposits for custom design projects are non-refundable.

    Due to the custom nature of our product, custom design orders cannot be cancelled or refunded once production has begun. Please see our Terms of Service for additional details.
