ORDER PROCESS
1. Build your invitation suite by adding each item (in your desired quantity) to your cart and purchase all items together as one order. Don’t forget to visit our Embellishments page to add any desired upgrades to your suite a la carte!
2. mela design co will email you a form within 2 business days requesting your invitation wording and other customization selections like paper color and envelope color.
3. mela design co will then send you a digital proof of your customized invitations within 2 business days of receiving your completed questionnaire.
4. You can then respond with your proof approval or request for revisions. Up to two proof revisions are included in your order; any changes thereafter will incur a $30 fee per proof. Your response is requested within two business days - any longer may affect the delivery timeline of your order.
5. Once your final proof approval is received, your order will be immediately put into production. No changes can be made to your order once you submit your proof approval. Orders will be shipped 2-3 weeks after we receive your proof approval. More complex orders may take an additional week.
PAPER
We pride ourselves on the quality of the paper and envelopes we offer. Our wedding invitation suites are printed on thick, 118# cotton paper, with a rich pillowy texture and softness that do not go unnoticed. Items are printed on your choice of Bright White (a cool, bright white) or Soft White (a soft, warm white) paper. Our paper is 100% cotton, tree-free paper that is Rain Forest Alliance certified as eco-friendly. * Opt for double-thick paper (236#) in our Embellishments shop - this really sets your invitations apart and is among our most recommended upgrades.
PRINTING
Pieces are printed using professional-grade, full-color digital printing. This produces vibrant colors with a flat finish. Please note that while we aim to represent colors as accurately as possible, computer screens calibrate color differently, so the color you see on your screen may vary slightly from the printed colors you will hold in your hand. *Opt for letterpress or foil press printing in our Embellishments shop for for an ultra-luxurious experience and stand-out invitations.
QUANTITY:
Order for the number of households you will be sending invitations to, which is often less than the total number of guests. We highly recommend ordering extra invitation sets (about 15% more) to account for any potential guest list changes/additions, as reprints and rush fees can be costly.
UPGRADES
We can further customize your suite with elegant upgrades like:
- Letterpress or Foil Press printing
- Double-thick cardstock
- Wax seals (pre-made or hand-poured)
- Invitation Wraps: vellum jackets, belly bands, twine wrap, or ribbon wrap
- Envelope address printing for the main envelope and rsvp envelope
- Stamp curation/assembly - this is a free service, you only pay for the price of stamps

RUSH ORDER
We offer a rush package that expedites the design, production, and assembly of your invitations.
Our invitation rush fee is $150. Please message us with your need-by date to confirm availability.
SHIPPING
We offer free standard shipping on domestic US Orders!
Important note: all carriers are experiencing delivery delays and have suspended delivery guarantees. We are not responsible for any shipping delays on behalf of the carrier and all orders (including rush orders) will not be refunded due to arriving late. Please place your orders in advance.
SAMPLES
Samples are a great way to see and feel the quality of our paper and printing in your own hands. Sample sets include an invitation, RSVP card with RSVP envelope, details card, and main envelope with envelope liner. Please note that samples cannot be customized. If you’d like to see a particular envelope color, let us know in your order and we will include a sample of your desired color if available. Samples usually ship within 1-3 business days.
**IMPORTANT: Pictures may show additional items that are not included in the order, but are upgrade options available at additional cost. Your order includes only that which is specified at the top of this description. Mailing invitations with a wax seal may require additional postage.**
